Baseball Themed Baby Cake

Calling all Giants' fans!! This is the perfect 1st birthday cake for a baby boy who has baseball in his life! We created this whimsical cake for our client, Amanda Sabean, whose husband works for the Giants. Actually, I should say Amanda created the vision, and we executed it, adding our own touches. She came to me with ideas and pictures and together we designed the perfect cake for her little guy.

Pink & Orange Cupcake Tower

A wedding cake doesn't have to be big to make a statement! We created this cupcake tower for a beautiful wedding held at the Westin St. Francis ballroom. The two tiered cake serves 50 and there are 50 additional cupcakes in chocolate, vanilla and red velvet flavors. Fresh gerbera daisies and dahlias round out the eye-catching design!

We can do a similar thing for smaller events like bridal showers or baby showers.

Champagne Bottle in Crate

Topsy Turvy Ferrari Cake

This fun cake was designed with the help of the groom. No, the wedding decor wasn't red and black (far from it, it was orange and green)....no there wasn't a "car theme" throughout the wedding. What's really refreshing about this cake is that the design did not have anything to do with the wedding at all, other than the fact that the groom loves cars and Ferrari's, and also really digs a cool looking cake!

80th Birthday Cake

We created this special cake for an 80th birthday celebration. Wendy, the daughter, ordered the cake by phone and asked that we include some Japanese maple leaves, as a tribute to her father. Inside the cake was moist vanilla butter cake and strawberry filling.
Sonya: The cake was really beautiful (these photos do not do it justice) and admired by all, especially the recipient. You were right, it was really delicious too and everyone, including us lactose intolerant folks, got to have a piece without worry. Thanks so much for such a wonderful cake, it added an extra special touch to a memorable occasion!

Candyland Cake

We created this fun cake for our pal, Oliver, who turned 2 this weekend. This was no ordinary two year old party....it was a very "classy" event held at Lake Merced Country Club, featuring a really cool professional puppet show performed by Rachel of the Puppet Art Theatre Co. The cake was the "icing on the cake."

Every child's fantasy: a cake decorated with all their favorite candy! Even adults will want to be a kid again just so they can have a cake like this. Make the child in your life (or adult) feel like the "kid in a candy store" and celebrate their day with our very special Candyland Cake! Serves 35.

Flower Pot Cakes

Looking forward to an early spring! We celebrated my good friend Jen's 40th birthday today with these three adorable little flower pot cakes. Each pot is a different flavor cake covered in terra cotta colored fondant, and topped with chocolate cake crumbs made to look like soil. Each is then planted with a sugar flower made from sugarpaste -- orange cala lilies, a yellow tulip and hot pink gerbera daisies. Inside were red velvet cake, tiramisu and chocolate raspberry. We devoured two and saved one pot for Jen to bring home to her little girls (ages 5 and 3).

Russian Books Cake

My good client Yana ordered this special cake for her father's 70th birthday. The "scroll" is hand-sculpted from sugar and printed with a special Russian poem. The books are entitled with some of her father's favorite authors. This really challenged my writing skills!

Oceano Hotel in Half Moon Bay

So after booking my second wedding in a row at the newly opened Oceano Hotel in Half Moon Bay, I thought, "I really need to check this place out on my own." My brides were raving about this stylish new hotel right on the water that offers all-inclusive great wedding packages and an on-site coordinator that is just "to-die-for".

Today I had the pleasure of meeting this coordinator, Nancy Nerhan, and I saw immediately what all the fuss was about. The hotel is totally gorgeous and stylish -- huge, beautiful ballroom, unique dance floor with a huge glass atrium as its ceiling and truly stunning guest suites. You can take a look on-line at this hotel, but truly, this is one of those venues you need to see to appreciate. And most importantly, Nancy is soooo nice, down-to-earth and well-meaning, that you really really need to meet her yourself!

If you want an intimate wedding in a unique yet convenient location, warm & friendly service that is not cookie-cutter -- you need to check this place out. We are proud to be on their preferred vendor list and plan on working with this hotel frequently in the future!

Chocolate Henna Cake

People always want to have a cake that means something to them. It's the one area in the wedding where you can really have some fun and be original, without taking too much risk. Take a look at this idea - inspired by the bride's Indian heritage, this is a modern take on the "henna pattern".

A Cake "Buffet"

Create a lasting impression at your wedding with this elaborate display of many little cakes, all in the same Tiffany blue color scheme but in different patterns and shapes. Instead of one large cake, you get to look at several fun ones -- the effect is undeniably eye-catching! The wedding was at the historic Kohl Mansion in Burlingame, and the cake had its own dedicated room with signature black and white floor.
