Children's Book Cake

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Cake. "On Monday, he ate through one apple. On Tuesday, he ate through one pear. . ." One of my favorite children's books! So cute, so simple, so hungry! Here's a huge version of that book that we created for a special first birthday. We handpainted the caterpillar and fruit to give it the same look as the book. Travel Suitcase Cake

We created this special cake for our client Vicki's Aunt Margaret's 70th birthday. Margaret is an avid traveler and a very special aunt to Vicki: she moved in with Vicki and helped take care of Vicki's children while she was on bedrest for several months during her last pregnancy! Now, I'm sure Margaret was in dire need of a vacation after that!

Porsche Cake

For my wonderful client, Diane. We made a wedding cake for Chuck and Diane several years ago, and then a cake for her baby boy a few years later. Now, another milestone celebrated with Butterfly Cakes -- Chuch's 30th! Here's what Diane had to say:

Thank you so much for the fabulous Porsche cake you did for Chuck's 30th birthday last weekend. The cake was a huge hit - in appearance and taste! Chuck was thrilled with it and we're still enjoying the leftovers :) I don't know what your secret it, but your fondant is the best we've ever tasted. Once again, you have done an amazing job for us. We really appreciate it!

Something Blue

Trend Watch: Blue is the new "it" color for weddings! Royal blue, navy blue, anything but Tiffany blue. When the 4th bride in a row came and told me her wedding colors were a deep blue and white. . .I was onto something. Here's my inspiration translated into cakes for 2010.
